An elemental nature-connection experience in a clearing in our forest, close to our wild swimming lake.
You'll find our wood-fired sauna situated in a beautiful location - in a clearing in our forest and close to our wild swimming lake. This is a truly elemental healing experience - with flickering flames and the soft crackle of wood burning. Resting here invokes a sense of timelessness, peace, and connection to all-that-is. You’ll leave feeling happier, healthier, more resilient.
There’s much evidence for the benefits of sauna - to support relaxation, bolster the immune system, boost feel-good hormones, improve circulation, sooth pain and support skin health.
Combined with cold water immersion, sauna is an ancient restorative tool. Take an invigorating wild dip in the lake, or in the wild showers overlooking the forest, and then return to the strong, dry warmth that eases both body and mind.
This is a simple, beautiful experience in a simple, beautiful location. It’s an invitation to truly relax and unwind in nature. Plus, swapping between the lake and the sauna is a lot of fun!
This experience is exclusive and complimentary to guests staying with us on a Self-Guided Retreat Package. There is no need to book. Our Lead Grower, David will meet you in the dining room at the Hermitage.
Martin came with the property when Seth first started 42 acres, having worked for the previous owners. Like his great white shark namesake, Martin does not thrive in captivity and enjoys the freedom of working in the landscape, in nature, and away from the enclosure of walls. Martin is our area lead for grounds and maintenance, and in his spare time enjoys making quirky garden furniture from driftwood, some of which you can see in the walled garden.
