A weekend retreat designed to support us to reconnect with nature, self and others.

This land has been allowed to rest, restore, renourish, and rewild. Here’s an invitation for you to do the same.

Wild Weekends are life-affirming retreats birthed from this land and our team. They invite disconnection from technology and everyday pressures, and reconnection with something much more profound.

Wild Weekends offer beautiful, wild surroundings; quietly-luxurious accommodation; deeply nourishing vegetarian meals; and lovingly-held experiences designed to support you to consciously slow down and rediscover your place in the interconnectedness of all things.

Our vision is to reconnect with nature, self and others. These weekends are our vision made real. They will stay with you long after you leave this land.

Wintering

The theme for this Wild Weekend is Wintering. Here is an invitation to life-affirming connection & gentle transformation as we weave inner and outer work, nurture our resilience, and explore ancient plant wisdom. We’ll journey through the inner landscape of wintering while exploring the outer landscape through foraging seasonal plants, learning traditional folk medicine-making techniques, and crafting our own natural remedies to take home. (These make beautiful thoughtful gifts for the upcoming festive season). Leave feeling grounded, nourished, & reconnected to all that is.

“In truth, this land is more than a retreat, it is a sanctuary and a home for all of life” Seth Tabatznik, Founder, @42acresretreat

Our vision is to live in harmony with self, nature and others. We use our deepest intuition, ancient tools and shared knowledge to establish regenerative spaces, curate transformational experiences, and foster opportunities to learn, heal and grow.

Our Vision

Our “Soil to Gut” Food Philosophy

Our regenerative, hyper-local and simple food demonstrates a way of eating that continues the traditions of the past and supports our shared future. As we cultivate and restore the wellbeing of our planet Earth, we cultivate and restore the wellbeing within ourselves. We journey well beyond the farm-to-table concept and delve deeper into our soils and our gut. We believe that the soils in which we grow food and our guts in which the food ends up, are one and the same.

Experience Yourself as Nature

We’re exploring ways to take care of, and live in conversation with, our sacred world. Our 173 acres of land is home to millions of lives. We nurture the land not only for ourselves but for the other living beings we share it with. We invite you to explore the wild spaces, ancient woodland and 7-acre lake that we share with beavers, otters, wild boar, deer and pine marten to name a few.

Our team members tread gently and our intention is for you to feel held in a loving embrace. Please make yourself at home and care for our spaces as you would your own.

Our Guest Experience

Our Regenerative Promise

We aim to go beyond being sustainable into what we call regenerative. Being regenerative means being carbon negative and biodiversity positive. Put simply, we aim to leave the earth in better shape than when we found it – not only for us but for generations to come. Since 2015 we have planted over 5,000 native trees and over 1km of edible hedges – creating new sources of fuel, food and habitat. 100% of our heat and electricity is from renewable energy and we have 2 solar farms and 2 biomass wood-chip heat systems onsite.

Our 42 Mile Menu

Most of the food we serve is home-grown on our regenerative farm or wild-foraged on our land. We aim to source 80% of produce, year-round from within 42 miles. We are inspired by permaculture and are organic in principle. We love using raw ingredients as nature created them. The food you eat here is a final expression of our land, loving tended and created by our Land and Food Teams.
