Booking Policy

Full Board Stays:

We take 25% of the full fee at the time of booking. The remaining balance is automatically taken 14 days prior to your arrival date. Failure of payment automatically results in cancellation.

Summer Solstice Retreat with Alex Mytton and 42 Acres:

We offer two payment options:

1. payment in full
2. a non refundable 25% deposit and a second final balance payment 8 weeks prior to your arrival.

Failure of payment automatically results in cancellation.

Wild Weekends, Happy Pear and Satish Kumar Retreats:

We take the full fee at the time of booking.

Meals and experiences are included in your booking. Experiences are optional, however no refunds are offered when not attended.

Any additional catering add-ons or experiences, will be settled automatically on departure using the same payment card.

Cancellation By You

Please be aware that if you need to cancel your booking, a £25 cancellation fee applies in addition to the following charges:

• ‍56 days (8 weeks) prior to arrival – 0 cancellation fees apply.
• 28 – 55 days prior to arrival – 25% of the reservation amount will be retained by us.
• ‍0 – 27 days prior to arrival – 100% of the reservation amount will be retained by us.

Cancellation By Us

42 Acres reserves the right to cancel a booking. In the unlikely event that your booking is cancelled by 42 Acres, we will inform you as soon as we can and outline the options available.

Food Allergies

Please notify us of any allergies in the notes at the time of booking. We may not be able to cater for all allergies without advance notice.

42 Acres operates kitchens that handle nuts and products containing nut traces and will not take any responsibility for any medical issues caused as a result of nut consumption or allergy flare. 

Under the provisions of the legislation Food Safety Act 1990, Food Hygiene (England), Regulations 2013, EU Regulation 852/2004 42 Acres is required to monitor the safety of the food at all steps in the process from purchasing through to service to the end consumer.

Check in 4pm. Check out 2pm.

Full Board Bookings:

Check in 4pm. Check out 10am.

Guest Numbers

We offer single and shared occupancy rates. If you need to change your booking from single to double occupancy, please make us aware in advance as an additional charge will apply.

We offer triple occupancy rates in Sumptuous Rooms which have a sofa bed.

If we find additional guests have been staying in the room, you will be charged accordingly at check out.

Outdoor Experiences

You are welcome to wild swim in the lake at your own risk. Please do your research before jumping in – there are dangers to be considered and there are no lifeguards on duty. Always swim with a buddy and only enter and exit from the jetty. A life buoy ring can be found at the side of the jetty.

If using the sauna please ensure you have read the guidance provided beforehand and only use it with a buddy.

Children

All our retreats are for adults only unless explicitly stated in the listing. We offer family-friendly self-catered stays which can be explored here.

Animals

Assistance dogs trained by ADUK member organisations are welcome, and are the only animals allowed. You are responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable laws, rules and regulations in relation to assistance dogs. If an assistance dog is required, it is your responsibility to advise us and to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests.

Alcohol & Drugs

Our retreats are conscious, sober celebrations. Please honour the experience alcohol- and drug- free.

Lost Property

We will post any lost property back to guests but postage and packaging will be charged and 42 Acres will not be liable for any lost property.

Smoking

In accordance with legislation no smoking is permitted in any of our buildings.

Care of The Property

We kindly ask that you remove your outdoor shoes before entering our spaces.

Guests are not permitted to use the staff entrance or enter the kitchen at The Hermitage.

Please inform us of any damage found on arrival. You will be liable for the reasonable cost of replacement or repair for any damage, missing items, extraordinary cleaning costs, late departure for which you are responsible.

Termination of Stay

We may ask you to leave if you or members of your booking are believed to be causing a nuisance to the other guests or are not treating the property and land with respect.

Building Access

We may need access to the building to make necessary repairs, maintenance and/or inspections during your stay. Prior notice will be given to you wherever possible and privacy will be respected at all times.

Complaints

We really hope you have a wonderful experience at 42 Aces. If any problems arise during your stay please let us know immediately where we endeavour to deal with it promptly. Claims for compensation cannot be considered after the stay has ended if there was no such prior notification.

Privacy Policy

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.

Data Protection

Personal information provided by guests is stored securely in the 42 Acres records system and will be used solely for the retreat purpose. It will not be passed on to anyone else.
