Our Team
This is us!
Small Team. Big Vision
It hasn’t been simple to organise us into any kind of order. Many of us hold multiple roles that have evolved organically over time, shaped by our organisational goals, our individual enthusiasms, and our commitment to supporting the health of the wider world.
We work within a circular structure, guided by the belief that all flourishing is mutual. And of course, it’s not always neat. Sometimes things are messy. We’re not perfect, but we are practising together. So here we are, loosely grouped into spheres, and within those, listed in alphabetical order.

Guy Dunwell
Permaculture Gardening
I’ve worked in horticulture for 4 years, starting out in perfectly-manicured, weed-free “Downtown Abbey” type estates. But I always felt that keeping things so perfect was unsustainable, unnatural and boring.
As a grower in our Permaculture Garden, I’m excited to work with wilder spaces. I enjoy finding the balance between creating spaces to breathe and letting nature do its thing.
I holds the bee tending project at 42 Acres and am creating a food forest system in my front garden at home.

Martin White
Estates & Rewilding
I work on the Estate team, leading on our nature conservation projects, including White Storks and wildcats (which means plenty of worries, and occasional flashes of incredible joy).
I came with the property and am drawn to opportunities to continue to change our landscape for the better. These range from removing non-native spruce plantations in order to restore the ancient woodland at Fry’s Wood; to supporting species reintroduction projects like the white storks.
As a maturing species, we have a responsibility to repay our debt to the natural world and act to restore what has been lost

Molly Armstrong
Wild Food & Content Creation
I am responsible for Wild Food at 42 Acres. I have experienced a vast abundance of wild and forage-able foods, and practised progressive and ancient methods of growing and wild-tending.
I love the fact that we are one of very few outdoor growers of edible and medicinal mushrooms – resulting in vastly more nutrient-dense and sustainable fruit.
I love taking our guests out on our land and sharing how to safely and sustainably forage.
I also hold our Wild Crafting experience, making beautiful things with flowers, foliage and willow – making the Christmas wreaths is one of the highlights of my year.

Raf Bartnicki
Estates & Fire Cook
I’m a member of the Estates team and land guardian here at 42.
As a Slavic Pagan, I enjoy observing and being part of nature as well as being part of the Fire Cook team which gives me the opportunity to connect with my hobby – bushcraft.
Most of us at 42 Acres have found our own space here – what we are doing is growing food and connecting to nature, building community and making our own big family.

Russell Rigler
Ornamental Gardening
I am the Head Ornamental Gardener at 42 Acres. My role is to create and maintain beautiful spaces where people can focus on self-reflection, diversify their diet, engage with nature and connect with others in a meaningful way.
I love conveying a feeling with plants, whilst creating a haven for wildlife and opening eyes to what is edible in the garden.

I ensure that people who want to come to the land can do so. In practice, this often means I’m the first person people hear when they try to determine if this place is right for them. I take that part seriously. Finding the right container matters.
I came to this work through the body. I’m a breathwork facilitator and somatic practitioner, and what drew me to 42 Acres was the same thing that draws me to that work – the conviction that when people are given real stillness and real land, something in them remembers itself.
I care deeply about places that hold people well. About nature as a genuine teacher rather than a backdrop. About the kind of slowing down that isn’t just rest, but re-orientation.
My favourite thing about being here is something quite simple: the way the land at 42 Acres does half the work before a session has even started. Guests arrive carrying everything they’ve been carrying, and then they step outside, and something shifts. I never get tired of watching that happen.

It’s the people who come to 42 Acres that make my work so meaningful. In my role, I support practitioners and guests in shaping their experience in advance, helping them bring their vision to life and ensuring they feel supported and cared for both before and during their stay.
I have an eye for detail and really enjoy helping to make people’s dreams a reality. Everyone is on their own journey, and I’m constantly energised by hearing the stories of practitioners and guests, and what has brought them to this work. These conversations often offer new perspectives and unexpected learning, which I value deeply.
I also love welcoming people physically to the land. There’s something about this place that people often feel as soon as they arrive, and I really value being part of that first moment of connection.
It’s a real joy to be part of a team that believes so strongly in what we’re offering. There’s a shared sense of purpose across everything we do, and a genuine collective commitment to the experience we create. When guests return or share feedback, it feels like a reflection of that shared effort, which is incredibly fulfilling.

Steward of Inspired Growth
I tend to the growth of 42 Acres with care and intention in order to keep it in balance with the land we steward, the wildlife whose home we share and the humans who find peace here.
I feel deeply connected to Somerset having grown up not far from 42 Acres, and after some time spent in London, this place called me home. Human connection has been my biggest pull of purpose, which I’ve explored through developing practices in life coaching and massage therapy. In more recent years, I have learnt (and am always learning!) of the strength in our natural world, the profound lessons it has to teach us and increasingly, the weight of responsibility we all share in protecting it.
The land provides many moments of awe each day – for me, the wild swimming lake offers this in abundance. When I need a break from my desk, you can find me there floating along gently, hoping to be lucky enough to see a flash of brilliant blue as our resident Kingfisher swoops by.

Lauren Smail
People & Culture
I’m Laurie. I grew up on an organic farm in Devon and have spent my life exploring regenerative agriculture, HR, Sailing, and Connection.
I’ve recently moved to Frome and feel so lucky to have joined the wonderful 42 Acres team as People and Culture Lead.
I love lake swimming and am very much looking forward to the warmer days of spring to jump in! I’m at my best when in nature, and feel blessed that at 42, walking meetings are such a big and beautiful part of my job.

Lisa Hawes
Marketing & Communications
I am passionate about wildlife and wild spaces, and have always trusted that nature knows best. I have been on a long journey across different spiritual paths, and relish the opportunity to work within a culture that values inner exploration alongside practical regenerative action. And, I am deeply committed to creating systems of mutual flourishing – taking small, hopeful actions together to create wins for ourselves, each other, and the planet. At 42 Acres, I have been blessed to find a confluence of all 3 of these things.
I lead marketing and communications, which means I get to share the stories of the beautiful, thoughtful work that happens here and the transformative effect it has on those who visit. Every time I walk the land with someone new, I get to witness this transformation again. Each time, it feels both simple and extraordinary.

Rozie Edwards
Leadership
I’m Rozie, Chief Ecosystem Officer and Lead Steward. My role is to nurture both the systems that support our work and the people who bring it to life; keeping the business operations in harmony with our deeper purpose and vision. I see my role as weaver, facilitator, and anchor; ensuring that we function as a thriving, interconnected whole that nourishes guests, team, land and community.
Having studied Psychology at university, human behaviour has always been a key interest to me both personally and professionally. I am proud of the resilient and life-affirming culture we are co-creating here at 42 Acres. Each day brings wonderful opportunities to grow and to support others on their journey. I swapped the boardroom for deeper connection and have found that in abundance here, learning to listen to the land and my own intuition is an ongoing practice.
Originally a Yorkshire lass, I have slowly moved south and now call Somerset home. I love to dance, read, swim in the ocean and feel warm sunshine on my face. I have two beautiful children who remind me daily how precious and wondrous this life is.

When I was growing up, my family had a small plot of land where we used to grow food using natural methods. My Mum was an excellent cook and I took inspiration from her playfulness with ingredients – she loved to invent new dishes. This is where I learned to love feeding people.
When I came into hospitality and saw where ingredients were coming from – fine beans from Kenya when you can grow them here – and how chemicals and pesticides are used to maximise profit, I lost heart for it and started looking for a place where there was more care for the ingredients than profit.
So here I am! Our “Soil to Gut” food philosophy means we put ingredients first. I love being on the land picking, smelling, tasting and connecting with the ingredients.
Here, my dishes are created from the heart. The love I put into our food is like an expression of love for our guests.

I am a housekeeper at 42 Acres. After a long career as a beauty therapist I felt like I needed a change and more space around me, but still wanted to use my eye for detail and hands on approach.
Now I keep spaces perfectly manicured instead of people! I love the calmness of the spaces and the expanse of the land around me.

Marion Stone
Retreats & Events
Hi, I’m Marion, and I’m the Retreats and Events Lead at 42 Acres. I ensure the guest experience runs smoothly and is held with love, presence, and attention.
I’ve spent most of my life in the service industry, from high-profile hospitality to stepping away from that world to start my own therapeutic and retreat business in Ibiza.
When I returned to the UK, I intended to find a way of living and working that felt more aligned with what matters to me: peace, personal and spiritual growth, and being close to nature. I feel very grateful to have found that at 42 Acres.
What I care about is how people feel when they’re here: supported, at ease, and able to get the most from their experience.
At the end of a retreat, when everyone has left, and the land is quiet again, I love finding a spot to sit in stillness and listen to the sounds of nature before heading home

Natalie (Nat) Mossayebi
Retreats & Events
I am part of the guest experience team here at 42 Acres.
I am so curious about people, and one of my favourite perks of the job is having interesting chats with guests and facilitators, understanding more about them and what brings them to 42.
It’s such a gift to work on this land, with a fantastic team, delicious food, and fascinating new people to meet and greet each day.

Saffron Parker
Retreats & Events
Hey, I’m Saffron. As a newer member of the hospitality team I’m excited to be part of the 42 Acres family.
Having worked in the wellness industry for over 25 years it is a delight to be in a role where all my skills and knowledge collide beautifully.
My role is to support guests and facilitators during their stay, and to make sure their retreats run smoothly.
I teach yoga locally and am passionate about plant medicine and good nutrition.
I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of connecting to the natural world to help regulate the nervous system and manage dis-ease.
In the quieter moments, you might find me hugging a tree, wiggling my toes in the grass or picking beautiful edible plants for the kitchen.

I am part of the housekeeping team here at 42 Acres, helping to keep the spaces calm, clean and ready for people to properly switch off. It feels good to play a part in creating a place where people can truly rest.
I really care about the little things that make a place feel welcoming – a sense of calm, fresh air, and knowing someone has taken the time to care.
Being surrounded by nature every day is a big part of why I love it here. The area also feels special to me, as I spent a lot of time here growing up, which makes being here now even more meaningful.
One of my favourite moments in my day is finishing a room and feeling that everything is settled and ready – knowing someone’s about to walk in, put their bags down, and just breathe out.
