Guided Rewilding Walk

Join us for a guided walk exploring our pioneering nature restoration and species re-introduction projects.

The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world. In exploring how we can restore health to our planet, we discover that we are simultaneously tending to our own selves. We rediscover our place in the interconnectedness of all things.

Over the past decade, we’ve created a mosaic of ecologically-rich, self-sustaining ecosystems. As a result, this land is species-rich and we have seen the return of several once-thought-extinct species to this region, including beavers, wild boar, and pine martens.

In partnership with The Species Recovery Centre, we are also working to bring lost and endangered species back to our landscapes. Through carefully managed breeding and release programs, we aim to restore balance by returning lost and rare species back into the ecosystems they evolved as part of.

Currently, we are focused on two species: White Storks and Wild Cats. During our walk, we’ll visit both and explore the vital role they play in their environment.

About the hosts

42 Acres

Martin White

Martin came with the property when Seth first started 42 acres, having worked for the previous owners. Like his great white shark namesake, Martin does not thrive in captivity and enjoys the freedom of working in the landscape, in nature, and away from the enclosure of walls. Martin is our area lead for grounds and maintenance, and in his spare time enjoys making quirky garden furniture from driftwood, some of which you can see in the walled garden.
