Self-guided retreats are fully catered with wholesome food organically-grown & wild-foraged on this land, freshly prepared by our retreat chefs to nourish you from the inside out. They also include daily transformational experiences influenced and inspired by the divine wisdom of nature. Plus, thoughtful touches - art supplies, yoga mats, swim towels and meditation tracks birthed from this land. Our experienced retreat hosts will support you to create a schedule bespoke to you - whether you’re seeking transformational experiences or to simply rest and restore in nature.

Our 13th-century Hermitage has long been a sacred space. It’s been consciously restored using sustainable, locally sourced, natural materials and sympathetic methods, and is powered 100% by renewable energy. Inside you’ll find understated luxury and timeless simplicity. Real fires, natural light, soft touches and far-reaching views down to our 7-acre lake. The result is a cosy, nurturing sanctuary that offers peace, and calm.

Meals are served in the beautifully light dining room. Please feel free to join other guests at the long, living-edge table - designed to inspire conversation & connection. Or, to dine separately at either inside or on the lawn. If you are staying for more than 1 night, lunch will also be included - you are welcome to eat inside, or ask for a blanket and picnic in your favourite spot on the land. Unlimited tea and coffee are available 24/7 in the dining room.

You're welcome to use the spacious group room and cosy snug with real fires and expansive views across our regenerative estate and down to the lake.

Library Barn

Library Barn is simply beautiful - having been sympathetically designed with wonderful features and eclectic details to surprise and delight. The upstairs bedroom features a glass balustrade over the living space and a Juliette balcony to the outside. It has it's own shower room on the ground floor.

The downstairs bedroom is accessible. It is possible to drive almost up to the door. (Please get in touch, if you'd like to discuss accessibility needs). It has an ensuite bath/shower room and opens both to the living space and to the outdoors.

The main living space is sociably open-plan. It features a fully-equipped kitchen, large dining table, and a lounge with 3 super-soft sofas, a real fire* and a large projector screen. Please feel free to lounge on one of the comfy sofas with a roaring fire to one side of you, and your favourite movie playing on the big screen to the other side!

At Library Barn we welcome one well-behaved dog at no extra cost. Please ask for our pet policy in advance so that we can accommodate.

*We will supply wood that is sustainably-sourced by coppicing on our land.
